Following up on a tip, the Hood County Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested a 46-year-old Granbury man and charged him with three felony counts of possession of child pornography, according to District Attorney Rob Christian.

James Thomas Wells, of the 3800 block of Weatherford Highway, was booked into the Hood County Jail at about 1 a.m. May 31 after giving a statement to investigators at the Law Enforcement Center, Christian said.

A search warrant was served at Wells’ residence on May 30 and electronic evidence was seized after the local task force received a cybertip from the Dallas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, according to Christian.

Christian said that the tip indicated “that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children had discovered approximately 29 images of child pornography had been uploaded to an account on the Internet. The upload was traced back to Granbury and traced back to Mr. Wells.”
