A 48-year-old Hood County man is accused of striking his 77-year-old stepfather with a chair during a recent disturbance, according to Hood County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Johnny Rose.
Donald Gene Rhoades, of the 800 block of Ports O’ Call Drive in the Comanche Harbor subdivision just south of Granbury, was arrested by deputies who responded to the residence after a disturbance call to 911 at about 9 p.m. on Jan. 7, Rose stated.
Deputies responding to the scene learned that Rhoades “had assaulted his stepdad by striking him with a chair on the left arm during the disturbance,” Rose said.
Rhoades was arrested on a third-degree felony count of injury to the elderly, Rose said. Bond was set at $25,000.
Rose noted that the victim was not seriously injured.
A 24-year-old Hood County man was arrested by a deputy Saturday and accused of possessing methamphetamine, Rose said.
Cord Alan Ejem, of the 5700 block of Lake Granbury Trail in the Lake Granbury Harbor subdivision northwest of Granbury, was taken into custody after a call reporting two suspicious men in that area, Rose said.
“Deputies made contact with the males, and Cord Alan Ejem had two Granbury Police Department traffic warrants,” Rose said. “During the contact, Ejem was found to be (in) possession of under a gram of meth.”
Ejem was charged with a state jail felony count of possession of a controlled substance, Penalty Group 1, less than 1 gram.
His bond on the felony count was set at $5,000. His traffic warrants, both Class C misdemeanors, carried a total fine of $658. Ejem remained in the Hood County Jail as of press time.
