Members of the Hood County Crimes Against Children Task Force on Monday arrested a 52-year-old Hood County man on two second-degree felony charges after he was accused of sexually abusing a teenager.
Samuel Duane McGinty, of the 1100 block of Skylark Drive in the Whippoorwill Bay subdivision north of Granbury, was taken into custody after he had arrived at a location in Granbury where he was to pick up the teenager.
District Attorney Rob Christian and Investigator Robert Young noted that McGinty was arrested within 24 hours of the time the victim came forward with the sexual abuse allegation.
The alleged victim was then interviewed by a member of the Paluxy River Children’s Advocacy Center.
The alleged sexual abuse began approximately three years ago, according to Christian and Young.
The investigation is continuing into other possible victims of McGinty, Christian noted, with assistance from Children’s Protective Services.
The two charges that have been filed against McGinty are sexual assault of a child ($35,000 bond) and indecency with a child-sexual contact ($20,000 bond).
McGinty remained in the Hood County Jail as of press time.
