A 66-year-old Oak Trail Shores man was arrested on Oct. 24 after investigators found “several images of suspected child pornography” on a computer-related storage device found in his home, according to District Attorney Rob Christian.

Investigators with the Hood County Crimes Against Children Task Force obtained a warrant to search the home of Truman Dale Whitfield, in the 3000 block of Inwood Trail, at 2:45 a.m. The search was based on information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Christian added.

“Investigators seized four computers and other computer-related storage devices from the residence,” Christian said, noting that “a preliminary analysis revealed” the suspected child pornography. “Investigators arrested Mr. Whitfield after obtaining a statement from him.”

Whitfield remained in the Hood County Jail at press time, with bond set at $20,000. “Possession of child pornography is a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine,” Christian said.
