A 27-year-old Hood County man accused of biting his 9-month-old son and also causing a broken arm was indicted March 5 by the grand jury on a first-degree felony count of injury to a child, District Attorney Rob Christian said.

Charles Michael Simms, of the 2400 block of Williamson Road south of Granbury, was arrested on Jan. 8 at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth by members of the Hood County Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Christian noted that the indictment alleges that Simms caused serious bodily injury by biting the child several times and fracturing the child’s arm.
