The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has asked local officials to “save the date” of Monday, June 10, for the opening of the extension of Loop 567.
A ribbon cutting ceremony is tentatively set for 11 a.m. that day at the south end of the extension, which connects to East Pearl Street/U.S. 377.
Precinct 4 Commissioner Steve Berry said that city, county and chamber officials will be invited to participate in the ceremony. He cautioned that weather could still cause delays with asphalt and striping.
Members of the public who wish to attend the ceremony will be able to park at the nearby city boat ramp, according to TxDOT Public Information Officer Natalie Galindo.
