A Hood County man who failed to pull over his vehicle when a Sheriff’s Office deputy tried to stop him for investigation of driving while intoxicated is facing a third-degree felony after a brief pursuit, Rose said.
A call reporting a possible drunken driver on Lipan Highway, northwest of Granbury, came to 911 at about 9:45 p.m. on Nov. 27. The vehicle was spotted by the deputy in the 1700 block of Highway 377, Rose said, and stopped on Old Granbury road after reaching speeds up to 70 mph.
James David Beddingfield, 50, of the 900 block of Janis Street in the Hideaway Bay Estates subdivision, was charged with evading arrest with a motor vehicle ($10,000 bond), plus DWI (Class A misdemeanor, $2,500 bond). He was released after posting bond, Rose said.
