First COPS graduating class

The members of the first graduating class of the Citizens on Patrol (COPS) unit, which is part of the Citizens Patrol Alumni Association, were (front row, from left) Betty Jansen, Captain Kathy Hooper, Pam Schueler, Treasurer Sue Macon, Lieutenant Dee Crow, (back row) Granbury Police Department Sergeant Chris Brichetto, Wes Thompson, Garry Galpin, Sergeant Jean Pilling and Sergeant Pam Fuller. The members had their graduation ceremony and obtained uniforms and lapel pins on Jan. 24. Their training included classroom studies, observation, driving, ride-a-longs and an obstacle course. The primary purpose of COPS is to help reduce crime through cooperation with the Granbury Police Department through observing and becoming “extra eyes and ears.” COPS member Ken Clough is not pictured.
