Fatal accident

Joseph “Ryan” Turner, 19, a Granbury resident and a 2011 graduate of Tolar High School, was driving this 2001 Chevrolet 1500 Silverado pickup when it collided with a 2007 Peterbilt 18-wheeler in the 3500 block of Highway 377 between Granbury and Tolar at 1:35 p.m. on Saturday. Turner was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:20 p.m. by Hood County Justice of the Peace Martin Castillo. The driver of the 18-wheeler was flown by air ambulance to a Fort Worth hospital. A jacket and other personal items are visible, but the body had been removed when this photo was taken. See story, P. 1A.
