Former Granbury Soil Conservation Service district conservationist Kent Ferguson (second from right) was recently honored by the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources at Texas Tech University as a 2014 Distinguished Alumni. Ferguson, who now resides in Valley Mills, spent about 20 years in Granbury, starting in 1982. He helped develop conservation plans on farms and ranches in the area. He is now a State Rangeland Management specialist for the Natural Resources Conservation Service.
