A report in the Jan. 26 edition of the Hood County News about a 14-year-old boy who was wounded in the upper thigh area by a bullet from a gun contained erroneous information, according to Hood County District Attorney Rob Christian.
The HCN reported that a 13-year-old girl had been arrested and arraigned on a felony count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Christian said Friday afternoon that no one was arrested. He said that the incident is being investigated by the Hood County Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Names in juvenile cases are not released.
Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Judy Watson explained that she read a magistrate warning to a subject that evening following the incident on Peak Road late Thursday afternoon. The boys injuries were not life-threatening, Watson said.
