A 53-year-old Hood County man is accused of sexually abusing children under the age of 14, according to District Attorney Rob Christian and could face life in prison if convicted.
Samuel Duane McGinty, of the 1100 block of Skylark Drive in the Whippoorwill Bay subdivision north of Granbury, was arrested March 7 at his home by members of the Hood County Crimes Against Children Task Force.
McGinty previously was facing a count of sexual assault of a child, and was released from the Hood County Jail after posting bond.
Christian said that after two more victims came forward claiming to have been sexually assaulted by McGinty, he was arrested once more after his charge was increased to a first-degree felony.
Christian said that the investigation is ongoing. All of the alleged victims will be included in McGinty’s indictment, Christian noted, adding, “Therefore, I do not anticipate filing any additional charges.”
All of the alleged victims were under age 14 and acquainted with McGinty prior to the offenses he is accused of committing, Christian said. McGinty remained in the Hood County Jail as of press time with a bond of $100,000.
