Chuck and Ruby Rickgauer of Tolar will celebrate their 50th anniversary with family and friends at an Open House at Barking Rocks Winery on Sunday, Aug. 11, from 1 to 5 p.m. The children will host the open house, complete with a video slide show, a replica of the original wedding cake, original dress from the wedding and Chuck’s original Navy uniform. All extended family and long time friends are invited to the open house.
Chuck Rickgauer and the former Ruby Wittstruck were married on July 28, 1963 in Mitchell, S.D. Ruby is from Ethan, S.D. and Chuck is from Mitchell, S.D.
Ruby is a registered Nurse graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina. She was a longtime employee of the Texas Health Department and currently volunteers at Ruth’s Place.
Chuck graduated from the University of Texas at Austin. Chuck was a member of the U.S. Navy spending 20 Years in the submarine service. He also retired from Comanche Peak after 28 years. Both Ruby and Chuck currently reside in Hood County. They own and operate The Windmill Farm and Bed and Breakfast in Tolar.
They have one daughter, Charlene Lynch and Richard Mattox of Leonard, one son, Kelly Rickgauer and Maureen of Edgerton, Wis.; and two grandchildren, Kaylie and Morgan.
