After 12 years in the U.S. Army, Roy May Jr. is living the dream.
May’s dream of becoming a Fightin’ Texas Aggie yell leader became a reality when he was elected a junior yell leader this spring.
Now living in College Station, May is not the typical yell leader. He’s 34, married and has an 8-year-old daughter.
May will be in Granbury Friday, July 19, for a program with other Aggie yell leaders. The men include Ryan Crawford, Hunter Cook, Chris Powell and Patrick McGinty. Photographs with the yell leaders will be offered.
The yell leaders will attend a reception and spaghetti supper to raise money for scholarships for the Hood county Aggie Mom’s Club and Hood and Somervell County A&M Club.
The program is planned at the Granbury Church of Christ, 1905 W. Pearl St. Seating begins at 4:30 p.m. and the yell begins at 5.
Meal tickets will be $10 for children 4-10 years, and $15 for anyone 11 and older. Children under 3 are free.
Meal tickets are limited and available by contacting Tammy Smith by mail, 6005 Melrose Circle, Granbury 76049. Or cantact Karen Jennings at Waterview in Granbury or John Henry Luton at First National Bank on the square.
