Tonight’s Jamboree helps fund Cancer Care Services

April 6, 2013

Organizers of the Country Spirit Jamboree hope the giving spirit continues at the benefit tonight for Cancer Care Services. The fund drive got a kick-start earlier this year when Granbury High School student Hallie Parsons donated $4,000 to Cancer Care Services.

Live music, dinner and dancing are planned at the eighth annual event. The benefit takes place at the Granbury Reunion Grounds, 641 Reunion Court. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Music will be provided by B.T. Rhodes and Larry Harkins with The Cross Country Band. “Texas-sized” live and silent auctions are also included.

Auction items include a Pembroke-Welsh Corgi puppy, handmade western dining table with shadowbox, autographed guitar, senate chair with leather seat and Texas seal, handmade queen-size western-style bed, western pleasure saddle with blanket, Texas-sized rocking chair, handmade quilt and more.

Dinner includes authentic chuck wagon barbecue “with one of the best desserts you will ever taste.”

Tickets are $25. A reserved table of 8 runs $150. Tickets are available at the Granbury Chamber of Commerce or by calling 817-408-5623 or 817-573-3775.

All funds raised at the event will benefit cancer patients in Hood County.

Cancer Care Services works to provide help and hope to cancer patients, survivors and their families and caregivers. Financial, emotional, spiritual and social programs, services and activities are provided.
