Special film showing on Sept. 11

A free showing of the film, “Honor Flight: One Last Mission” is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 5 p.m. at deCordova Country Club, in commemoration of Patriot Day.

Patriot Day is an annual observance on Sept. 11 to remember those who were injured or died during the terrorist attacks on the United States on Sept 11, 2001.

Honor Flight is a heartwarming, award-winning documentary about four World War II veterans and a Midwest community coming together to give them a trip of a lifetime. Volunteers race around the clock to fly thousands of World War II veterans to Washington, D.C. to see the memorial constructed for them in 2004, nearly 60 years after their epic struggle.

All are invited to attend the showing to honor America, celebrate troops and veterans, and learn more about the deadliest conflict in human history that forever altered the social structure of America and the world.

Snacks will be available during the showing.

An optional buffet dinner is available following the film. Make reservations at 817-326-2381.

On Nov. 11, the Houston Astros and the Texas Society, Daughters of the American Revolution will honor all veterans with a free screening of the inspirational documentary at Minute Maid Park.
