A variety of Thanksgiving events are being provided to the public free of charge by various ministries in the area.
Generations Church will host a free Thanksgiving-style lunch at Generations Church on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 1 p.m. The church is located at 5718 E. Highway 377, Granbury.
Lakeside Baptist Church’s Wellspring Community Kitchen will provide a free Thanksgiving dinner to the first 67 people on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 5 p.m. at the Lakeside Ministry Center at the intersection of Highway 144 and Contrary Creek Road. All are welcome, first come, first served.
Lakeside Baptist Church’s Loaves and Fishes Ministry will distribute free Thanksgiving food boxes on Monday, Nov. 19 to the first 300 families at the Lakeside Ministry Center at the intersection of Highway 144 and Contrary Creek Road. All are welcome, first come, first served.
The Way Church will provide free Thanksgiving food boxes on Sunday, Nov. 18 to the first 200 families that call or email to reserve one. Call 817-554-3432 or email the Church at [email protected]
The Tolar Food Bank is open every Wednesday from 3 to 5 p.m. and will be handing out hams or turkeys plus food for a Thanksgiving dinner as well as regular food bags to all who come. It is open to anyone of any faith or address who needs help.
The church is located at the corner of 8812 Highway 377 and Tolar Highway.
Acton Baptist Church will be hosting a meal on Thanksgiving Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. People can eat in, take out, or we will deliver. The meal is for anyone and everyone. This is the church’s third year to host a meal and we have had over 200 people each year. The Church is located at 3500 Fall Creek Highway.
The Lake Granbury American Legion Family Post 491 will be having its annual Thanksgiving Day dinner at the post, which is located at 3409 Davis Road, Granbury.
Volunteers from The American Legion, Sons of The American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary will gather together early in the morning to help prepare the family style feast. Dinner will be served at 2:30 p.m. The post will close at 6 p.m. Those attending are asked to bring a side dish or dessert and help celebrate Thanksgiving.
