Mailing deadline Monday for overseas care packages

December 1, 2012

The U.S. Postal Service has announced holiday mailing deadlines to ensure that packages arrive before Christmas.

For international mail, the deadlines are Dec. 3 for Priority or Dec. 11 for Express and Dec. 17 for Global Express guaranteed. For domestic mail, the deadlines are Dec. 21 for Priority and Dec. 22 for Express.

The “adopted” military personnel in the Hood County News troops program are very appreciative of the acts of kindness coming from our community. Many of the “adopted” troops routinely share their Hood County care packages with their peers.

The Post Office offers a military flat-rate box at a lower cost than regular flat-rate packages. To add someone’s name to the list, or to become a sponsor, call Nancy Pricer at 817-573-7066.
