Learn to use photography with art

The Pecan Plantation Art Guild (PPAG) welcomed local artist Cynthia James at the January meeting. The February meeting will feature Kari Lanting from Dublin who will inform the group on using photography with artwork in oil and watercolor Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. at the Pecan Activities Center (PAC).

The PPAG has begun 2014 with a bang. Its calendar includes many annual events in the making, such as the garage sale in April, Spring Show in May, and Gallery Night in September. Members are already volunteering time and talent to prepare for these occasions, as well as planning interesting art demonstrations and workshops for members at monthly meetings throughout the year.

Congratulations to Cheryl Moore for winning first place for Artist of the Month in January, and also garnering accolades are Wendy Moore, Colleen Zeiler, Jo Shaffer and Joanne Croft. These artists have work displayed at the clubhouse and businesses in Pecan Village.

Guests and new members are welcome to the PPAG. For all art specifics in Pecan, visit www.pecanplantationartguild.com or phone guild president Kathleen Bales: 817-279-8851.
