Here’s a chance to purchase unique artwork while helping the art programs in Granbury middle schools and the Crossland Ninth Grade Center.

Granbury artists are joining forces to present a creative Christmas tree on the square. The tree is part of a fund-raising effort to support art in Granbury schools.

In the Spirit of Christmas is the theme for the creative tree. Area artists have contributed unique pieces of art to decorate the tree.

The items from the tree will be auctioned by Shawn Hardin on Saturday, Dec. 1 from 3 – 8 p.m. on the square.

The works include stained glass, blown glass, sculpture, and wall art by artists Soon Y Warren, Sharon Markwardt, Rebecca Zook, Elise Techentine, Aaron Tate, Sam Jones, Cynthia Bell, Stacey Watkins, Cynthia James, Vicky Guthrie, Laura Hensley, Jane Conkling, Bonnie Welch, Ron Marrs and Cathy Quest among others. Selected works from the schools will also be featured.

The artwork will remain on the tree through the Christmas season. When the tree comes down, the winning bidders will be given their artwork.

“This art tree will be a sight to see with works by nationally recognized artists,” said Cynthia James.

In the Spirit of Christmas is sponsored by Galleries of Granbury.
