Rancho Brazos Community Center seeks volunteers

Construction at the Rancho Brazos Community Center (RBCC), 3702 Sundown Trail, is nearing completion following spring tornado damage.

The center is expected to re-open in several weeks, once again serving the community.

Volunteers are sought from all area churches for the faith-based After School Program that is open to children in Rancho Brazos subdivision and the surrounding areas.

Volunteers are needed for the following positions: tutors, librarians, food and snack helpers, faith and service leaders, and sports activities.

The Rancho Brazos Community Center is open Monday through Friday, from 3 to 6 p.m.

The schedule for volunteers is flexible, with each person typically working from 1.5 to 6 hours per week.

If interested, please send an email to Winston Dixon at [email protected], or call him at 817-932-2627.

BAKED GOODS, GARAGE SALE

TO HELP ALZHEIMER’S

Quail Park is supporting the Alzheimer’s Association by offering homemade pies, cakes, cookies, brownies, or any dessert that you want.

Your order will be good for one year from date of purchase of your certificate. The payment will be due upon ordering, so we can turn in the total amount raised for this years walk.

“We will bake for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentines, Easter, any holiday, birthdays, anniversaries, or just because,” according to Melinda Meyers at Quail Park.

See the front desk for certificates. Please allow two weeks notice for your order.

In addition to baking, Quail Park officials hope to raise money for Alzheimer’s with a garage sale Friday, Sept. 13. The sale is planned from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Quail Park, 2300 Paluxy Highway.

Items for the sale may be donation prior to Sept. 12.

Articles should be submitted at least two weeks prior to the event for consideration in the Helping Hands column in the Hood County News. Email information to [email protected]
