Food Drive Includes
A food drive beginning this week continues through Nov. 22 at local schools and businesses.
All area schools, 16 local dental offices and many medical and professional offices are participating in the “live thankfully” food drive organized by Pediatric Dental of Granbury.
The “live thankfully” campaign is an effort to “extend our smiles to the hearts and stomachs of the Granbury community,” according to organizers.
Food will be collected at Pediatric Dental of Granbury on Nov. 24 during the “Party with a Purpose” event for school children.
Distribution of turkey dinners and groceries will be at Mission Granbury on Nov. 26.

Mountain bike poker run
to help Jessica Nickell
with medical expenses
Proceeds from a mountain bike poker run Nov. 9 will help with medical expenses for Acton’s Jessica Nickell. The ride opens at 10 a.m. at the Solavacca Ranch in Glen Rose. (www.solavaca.com) The fee is $20 per person.
Jessica, 11, suffered a brain stem stroke two years ago and has ongoing medical expenses.
The poker run concludes with music and the awards presentation at 2 p.m. for the highest three hands. Raffle tickets are $5 for a chance at numerous other prizes.

Wet Veterans group
meets every Friday night For Water Exercise
The Wet Veterans will be meeting from 6:30 – 8 p.m. every Friday at the YMCA, 833 Harbor Lakes Drive.
The organization offers water exercise and recreation, along with information for veterans and their families.
