Rafael Cruz, father of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, will speak to the Hood County Tea Party on Thursday, April 25 at 6:45 p.m. at American Town Hall, 220 Travis St. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.
Rafael Cruz came to the United States at the age of 18 from Cuba. He had fought in Fidel Castro’s army starting at age 14. He was fighting for “hope and change” for his country. He ended up in a Batista prison (former dictator).
“Now Rafael is proud to be a citizen of the United States of America,” said Rene Poe. “And a very inspiring speaker.” Poe is vice president of the Hood County Tea Party.
