The Pecan Plantation Woman’s Club (PPWC) meets on Thursday with social time beginning at 9:30 a.m. and the meeting convening at 10. The ladies will be “Cruisin’ into Spring” with a fashion show of apparel from local merchants followed by lunch.
The hospitality committee has made Easter trees as table decorations for the day, and the trees will also be available for purchase on meeting day.Each one sells for $15, and they will go fast. Come early to shop.

The ROMEOS (Retired Old Men Eating Out) will also gather on Thursday, and it is an event all the gentlemen will enjoy.
New ROMEO member Bob Kaman will showcase his unique collection of model airplanes, and then attendees will partake of a pizza lunch. The gathering begins at 11:30 a.m.
BREAKFAST BANK ROBBERY
Wednesday morning’s Breakfast Club will hear from historian Dr. T. Lindsay Baker, who will present “Robberies and Embezzlements of the Stockyards National Bank,” the story of an infamous 1931 heist in Fort Worth where a vial of nitroglycerine was the robber’s weapon. Come at 8 a.m. for breakfast and the program.
Breakfast Club boasts a hospitable crowd that enjoys informative and entertaining programs each Wednesday at 8 a.m. All Pecan members are welcome to come, and most new attendees leave having made a new friend. Both a breakfast buffet and menu ordering are offered.
ARCHERY EGG SHOOT
“Eggciting” happenings are coming to Pecan’s archery range on March 23 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon when 53 money-filled eggs will be positioned for hunting.
Participants must be over 13 years of age, and the cost is $2 for three arrow shoots at any egg, with a combined purse of $220 available for winning by hunters. Bring your own bows and arrows or use those supplied at the range.
Hot dogs and soft drinks will be provided by Pecan’s Sports and Recreation Committee; picnickers are welcome.
Committee sign-up sheets are at the clubhouse front desk and will remain there through the end of this month. Folks who would like to serve on a committee may stop by to sign up.
The Easter buffet at the clubhouse will be a fantastic display of food fare. Three seatings are available, 11 a.m. and 1 and 3 p.m. Reservations are required; 817-573-2641.
After the very popular Valentine’s Day pet photo shoot, Friends of Pooch Plantation (FOPP) will offer an Easter portrait setting. March 23 beginning at 1 p.m. at the front circle, photographer Connie Iacomini will photograph pets with the Easter bunny.
Pictures will be available the next week at the Pecan Activities Center (PAC) for $5 each.
The Ladies Golf Association (LGA) will have a guest day on Tuesday, followed by its Sadie Hawkins Tournament on March 26. The Men’s Golf Association (MGA) will hold “individual 2 best ball” on Thursday and “pick-ur-partner alternating shot” on March 28. Sign up for these events the pro shop: 817-573-2645.
This month’s security spotlight shines on Jason Grimberg who serves on Pecan’s gate staff. Jason began working in Pecan last year and is a graduate of Texas A&M. Thank you to all the folks who make our community safe place to live.
