A time of reflection, honor and remembrance is planned at 11 a.m. today when fallen heroes of Hood County will be remembered at the U.S. Veterans Museum, 601 N. Thorp Springs Road.
The honorees include:
U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Riley C. Stephens of Tolar.
Deputy Sheriff Larry John Miller of the Hood County Sheriff’s Department.
Sgt. Lance Allen “Lou” McLean of the Hood County Sheriff’s Department.
This will be a time to remember and honor those who sacrifice so that others may enjoy the freedoms we experience on a daily basis, according to event organizers.
The city of Granbury and Hood County are joining the U.S. Veterans Museum for the program.
Families will be making memorial presentations to the museum.
All who are currently serving or have previously served the community and country are encouraged to attend in uniform.
Parking will be available at the U.S. Veterans Museum, the nearby Jim Burks Firefighters Memorial Park at 550 N. Travis St. and the lot at the intersection of North Houston Street and Lipan Highway.
