BRAZOS RIVER BAPTIST READY FOR AFTER SCHOOL
The new ministry building is almost complete at Brazos River Baptist Church.
The first meeting in the facility is set Thursday, Feb. 28 at 7 .pm. Details will be reviewed for the children’s after school program which has been named Challenging the Next Generation, or CNG.
All those who are interested in volunteering for this ministry are encouraged to attend.
“We will need as many as 20 volunteers to help with tutoring, mentoring, reading with the children, coordinating activities, cooking meals, various administration duties, and several other areas,” said Pastor Mike Mathis of Brazos River Baptist Church.
Financial needs for the after school program will also be a topic.
“I have spoken with the principal at Mambrino School, Dana Goode, and she was very receptive to this program,” Mathis said. “We are very excited for what God has in store for these children and the adults who volunteer. We know that lives will be changed and God will be glorified through this ministry.”
