Busy time for birthdays in Lipan

Deana (Branson) Williams and her husband, Larry, just returned from Maui, Hawaii. They were on a special trip to celebrate Deana’s birthday. Yes, it was a BIG birthday, I’m not saying how old she is, let’s just say it’s one of those birthday numbers that end with a zero!

While spending a week in Maui, they did a lot of sight seeing and relaxing. They also snorkeled and took a quick trip down a zip-line. Deana said they went to a Luau, where she sampled poi and pork, along with several delicious seafood dishes. They also saw a magic show while they were there.

Sincerest sympathy to the family of Charles Addison. Charles was born Oct. 29, 1935, and passed from this world on Dec. 18, 2013. He was a resident of Lipan most of his life. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Neta, daughters Trecia and Vickie, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother David, and other relatives and friends. His graveside service was held Dec. 22 at Evergreen Cemetery in Lipan.

The Lipan 4-H Club and FFA members are scurring to prepare for the Hood County Stock Show. The show this year will be held on Jan. 8-11 at the Livestock grounds. Be sure and go out at least one day in support of our youth. They will appreciate seeing you there.

Last weekend, on Dec. 29, four area residents celebrated birthdays! They are: Jim Waldrup, Justin Fowler, Rilynn Howard, and my grandson, Peyton Pendergrass. Peyton will be five years old! Thursday, Jan. 2 is Taylor Branson’s birthday. Happy Birthday to all of you!
