Book Sale, Wine Walk bring crowds downtown

Organizers from the Spring Book Sale and the Granbury Wine Walk are reporting both events were very well attended over the weekend.

Heather Cleveland said the success of both the Granbury Wine Walk and the VIP event “exceeded expectations.”

She reported Wine Walk committee members will have the wrap-up meeting later this week.

Linda Somervill, president of Friends of the Library (FOL), said the Spring Book Sale grossed about $7,000 before expenses. Proceeds are used by FOL to benefit the Hood County Library.

Some 50 volunteers worked to make the Book Sale a success.

“After opening the book store, we wondered whether it would hurt the Book Sale,” Somervill said. “But we had a big sale in October and another big sale over the weekend.”
