Granbury Lady Pirate Ashley Bonugli is sandwiched between a pair of Arlington Heights defenders and receives a hard foul in the process. The contest Tuesday evening at James Wann Sports Center was a rough one, and this was one of numerous fouls. The District 7-4A game was won by the Lady Pirates 52-36. The physical game also featured a broken knuckle on the pinky finger of all-state post Lilley Vander Zee, according to coach Leta Andrews, who said she is expected to miss Tuesday’s bidistrict contest against rival Cleburne at 6:30 p.m. at Boswell High School in Saginaw. Last season Granbury advanced four rounds in the playoffs, its best season in nine years. Related story, P. 8A.
