Cheers for the Lake Granbury Medical Center!
My husband and I have retired and are newcomers to Granbury, moving here from Midland in March.
Two weeks ago, I had a huge flare-up of my three-year colitis problem and desperately needed medical help. We arrived at the ER and was immediately taken into a room, meeting with Dr. K. Sistrunk.
After some questioning, she quickly diagnosed my situation starting with a cat scan, IVs … the works. In a couple of hours, I was more stable and was moved to ICU. There, Dr. A. Peterson took my case making the medical decisions.
I spent five days in ICU with a group of highly skilled nurses and staff. Everyone worked tirelessly long shifts to ease my pain and dispensing the medicine my body needed, especially Nurses Cathy, Brenda, Lori and Randy. Nurse Randy had the night shift, which for me was the worst part of the day. Thankfully, he is blessed with the gift of laughter that raised my spirits from the deep. The dietician saw me several times trying to perk up my appetite. The kitchen made special food for my irritable tummy … so delicious. Best cherry cobbler in town!
Six days later, after a full round of steroids, antibiotics, pints of blood and iron, pain meds, and too much to mention, I was ready to go home.
Dr. Peterson and her wonderful team of doctors and nurses had given me back the gift of life. I was so grateful, but how do you say “Thank You” for such dedication, healing and getting me back on my feet again?
I would like to tell the residents of Granbury to use our fine Medical Center! I have been a patient in several hospitals, but none score as high as this one! These same doctors and staff are waiting there for you!
