October – a great month to celebrate!
Hello Hood County! We are celebrating another great month of departmental developments and community happenings.
Congratulations to Hood County’s newest attraction, Revolver Brewing, on its grand opening. Over 1,000 craft brew enthusiasts poured into Revolver last Saturday for the big celebration. Revolver will host “Brewery Tours and Tastings” on Saturdays from noon until 3 p.m. Enjoy food vendors and live music each week. Info: 817-736-8034.
MEETINGS MEAN BUSINESS
This month, Granbury also had the pleasure of hosting the first Texas Statewide Fireworks Convention. Delegates enjoyed educational breakout sessions, while the community enjoyed a spectacular consumer fireworks display.
Over 100 Texas fireworks retailers and wholesalers enjoyed our city – meeting at the conference center, staying in our hotels, shopping and dining around town – and are looking forward to returning next year.
Most recently, Granbury has secured and looks forward to hosting the Women’s Texas Golf Association, Gateway Church Women’s Retreat, Texas Municipal League – Region 8 Meeting, Texas Downtown Association and many others. We know they will have a wonderful time in our great city.
If you are interested in bringing your association or organization to Granbury and want to be a local host, contact Jennilee Latimer at 682-936-1205. Did you know? Our department will assist in gathering group room rates, meeting facility plans, trolley transportation and convention visitor bags. For meeting planning A to Z, just call Jennilee!
One of our department’s primary goals is to generate positive media coverage about Granbury as a tourism destination. We know that generating positive coverage about Granbury directly influences travelers to spend their tourism dollars in our city. Our team recently hosted our first annual press trip. To view the results, check out our Pinterest board, “Granbury In the News” at www.pinterest.com/visitgranbury.
Our team spends much of our time promoting Granbury as a premier leisure and meeting destination. Meaning, we target future business to fill our meeting facilities, as well as immediate leisure tourism to help our lodging and attraction partners.
This month, we hosted the GLAMER – DFW Chapter Meeting at the conference center and showcased what our city has to offer to qualified Group Travel Planners. We enticed them to select Granbury as a tour site in the future.
Also this month, you will find our team exhibiting and participating in the Dallas Travel and Adventure Show, Small Market Meetings and the DFW Meeting Planners International Sales Blitz.
