Complete with chocolate fountains and golden tickets, a musical at Brawner Intermediate School recently wowed parents and other attendees with Willy Wonka Jr.
Roald Dahl’s timeless story of the world-famous candy man and his quest to find an heir comes to life in this stage adaptation of “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” which features the songs from the classic family film “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory,” according to Music Theatre International.
The production featured Noah Russell in the title role and Macie Boyd as Charlie.
Others in the cast were Laura Bush, Kennedy Clark, Torrey Cline, Averie Coffman, Jason Durham, Zander Durham, Lillian Fuller, Nathan Gibson, McKenzie Hamilton, Wade Harmon, Kenlee Hubble, Anya Irish, Lorraine Johns-De La Garza, Annie Hart, Kaylee Kirkland, Grace Lanham, Hailey Lavan, Lillie Logue, Emily Massey, Julie McCarrell, Casey Pearson, Walker Minor, Georgia Myers, Caitlyn Nagel, Lexi Thorp, Jack Watson and Angela Young.
Performing as the Candy Kids were Elizabeth Aschenbrener, Abigail Briley, Bailee Burenheide, Brooke Combs, Cassidy Castillo, Sephreana Hattenbach, Salem Holmes, Cindy Massey, Ariel Million, Nicole Owens, Lauren Petty, Alexis Smith, Katherine Sullivan and Becca Wilson.
Directing the performance was music teacher Angela McGuyer. Stage managers were Caleb Anderson, Lily Myers, Jennifer Sullivan, Kristen Wendel and Melanie Williams.
