Three Granbury High students advance to state choir auditions

Two choir students from Granbury High School and one from Crossland Ninth Grade Center will advance toward the final round of auditions to qualify for one of three all-state choirs.

Students advancing are GHS seniors Josh Carpenter, a tenor, and Nate Milson, a bass. Also advancing as an alternate is alto Kiersten Mathis, a freshman at Crossland.

The group travels to Midland for the Jan. 12 final auditions.

In addition to these three advancing students, performing with the region choir at the clinic and concert were Cody Bridges, Peter Dowd, Hailey Hart, Makenzie Kane, Eva Murphy, Eddie Ramirez, Sofia Taylor, Tori Townsend, Collin Turney, Chase Whittet and Natalie Willingham.

District choir members performing were Colton Collins, Kyle Mayes, Dakota Medlin, Cody Mullican, Joel Reid, Deanna Rupp and Crystal Simmons.

Others qualifying for the district choir but unable to attend were Ashton Goodson, Ana Gutierrez and Alondra Martinez.
