They could have been straight out of “Pirates of the Caribbean” when Emma Roberson Elementary School administrators and staff dressed up in Pirate garb to read for classes for International Talk Like a Pirate Day on Sept. 19. Joining in the fun were principal Kellie Lambert (pictured with students at left), assistant principal Jimmy Heffernan, counselor Megan Guidry, librarian Shelley Statler and intervention specialist Mellanie Ferguson (pictured above). Students enjoyed hearing from the group reading Pirate-themed children’s books. International Talk Like a Pirate Day is observed annually each September.
