Remembering the heroes

Acton Middle School students participated in a patriotic essay contest sponsored by Elizabeth Crockett chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). Winning the chapter award was eighth-grader Tiffany Henney (middle), who received a medal and a $25 cash prize. Also recognized for their participation were Emma Barone and Lea Kimmell. The topic centered on forgotten heroes of the Revolutionary War. Henney is pictured with DAR American History chair Kim Tate (left) and regent Shelby Sackett.
