Theater arts students from Acton Middle School and Granbury Middle School competed in a One Act Play Friday at Granbury High School.
Both schools earned superior ratings. GMS students also won the Distinguished Cast Award for being the most respectful, polite, cooperative, and hard-working cast and crew. Winning awards were: all-star cast – Kylie Horton from GMS and Brynn Deger from AMS; honorable mention cast – Faith Nestle and Kimbria Younkin from GMS and Will Warner from AMS; all-star tech crew – Nicole Futch from GMS and Charlotte Elliott from AMS.
GMS players presented “The Bad Seed.”
The cast included Alan Corral, Kylie Horton, Coley Irving, Kate Jennings, Brandon Jurado, Nicholas Masias, Faith Nestle, Christopher Patten, Gwyneth Thomas, Anthony Vardaro, and Kimbria Younkin with alternates Max Holly, Sara Mardis, Robert Stowell Jr. and Destiny Young.
Katie Tull served as assistant director with Cadence Chiappe and Nicole Futch as stage managers. The crew also included Hannah Baca and Raul Sandoval.
The AMS troupe performed “A Canterbury Tale from the Wife of Bath.”
Cast members were Grace Arnold, Ashley Boyd, Clayton Brown, Landon Butler, Robin Chancellor, Brynn Deger, Hannah Dewey, Lizzy Garcia, Skylar Schreiber, Talor Swindle, Sage Waltz, Will Warner, and Remington Watson with alternates Tim Johnson, Paige Klima, Ally Krebbs and Halee Vaughn.
Crew members were stage manager Charlotte Elliott, Hunter Land, Kelsey Pavelick, Taylor Sherrell and Aaron Stufflebean.
