Granbury High sophomores Melaine Lively-Adams and Hannah Roberts have been selected to attend the 2013 North Texas Seminar of the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership program.
The conference will be held June 6-9 at TCU.
Hugh O’Brian, who portrayed legendary lawman Wyatt Earp in a 1950s television series, started the leadership program in 1958 following a visit with Dr. Albert Schweitzer.
After nine days of working alongside Schweitzer in a medical clinic without electricity and running water in the African jungle, O’Brian received a charge from the humanitarian: to help teach young people to think for themselves.
