Several seventh graders at Granbury Middle School and Acton Middle School are taking a Career Exploration course to learn about job and career opportunities.
“This course is giving students the opportunity to hear from experts in each career area and participate in hands-on activities that will engage the student in industry experience,” commented Granbury ISD Career and Technical Education Director Judy Gentry. “The district is excited about the knowledge and information students will gain from this class so that students can make informed college and career decisions.”
In the classes, students are completing interest inventories and surveys to gain a better understanding of themselves, their interests and their abilities. They are also incorporating decision-making tools and problem-solving skills through career investigation, college and career readiness exploration, and will gain industry standards knowledge, Gentry said.
