Four Granbury High School theater arts have qualified for a national competition.
The students qualified while attending the Texas Thespian Festival Nov. 29-Dec. 1 in Houston.
Making the cut for the national contest were: Natalie Willingham in solo musical; Hailey Hart and Bailey Youngs in duet acting; and Kyle Mayes in monologue.
A group of theater students from GHS and Crossland Ninth Grade Center traveled to the state event at the George R. Brown Center to view performances and attend workshops in addition to the competitions.
Others GHS students attending were Sheridan Baze, Brigette Bean, Blake Bergeman, Mandy Brenning, David Broberg, Preston Chapman, Danya Gonnella, Cameo Gonzales, Madilyn Higgins, Nick Mayes, Dakota Medline, Kaitlyn Meinershagen, Tori Townsend and Izzy Woods.
Freshman making the trip were Baylee Davis, Kiersten Mathis, Brennan Ross and Whitney Shearon.
The 2013 Thespian Festival and the national convention of the International Thespian Society will be held June 24-29 at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln.
