Baccus fifth-grade teacher Pam Carver received the Instructional Leader Award from the Effective Schools Project at Tarleton State University during a conference presentation Thursday.
Carver’s nomination was made by Baccus Principal Trisha Suitt and campus teachers.
“I believe Pam could teach just about anything to anyone,” stated Suitt, who nominated Carver for her “natural gift for educating” and “love for students, her intense desire for all students to learn, and her remarkable way of working and motivating her co-workers.”
“I love that moment of discovery with my science students. The quick inhalation of air followed by ‘That is so cool!’ is the best part of my job,” Carver said. “Watching the way their brain works as they work their way through a lab, or giving them a tray full of objects and asking them to ‘figure it out’ makes my day fly by.”
