The varsity tenor-bass choir at Acton Middle School has been selected to perform at the 2014 Middle School/Junior High School National Conference for Choral Music.
The conference will be hosted by the Cambiata Institute of America at the University of North Texas in Denton.
The choir will have a 30-minute stage presentation and will be giving the world premiere of two new works written for the Cambiata Composition Initiative, according to AMS choir director Randall Walters.
The AMS ensemble will also perform its own program selections and will direct a short master class highlighting a teaching method or a strength of the choir program.
The performance is scheduled for Saturday, May 3 at the Voertman Concert Hall on the UNT campus.
