Granbury High School academic team members hauled away several awards at a University Interscholastic League (UIL) academic meet at Mansfield Timberview High School last Saturday.
The accounting team continued its domination as those students seek to win a fourth straight state championship.
The competing students received the following recognitions:
Accounting (Team): Austin Bradley, Kimberly Hays, Joseph McLean, Evangelina Oviedo, Kyle Shanahan, first.
Accounting (Individual): Evangelina Oviedo, first; Joseph McLean, second; Kyle Shanahan, third; Austin Bradley, fifth; Kimberly Hays, sixth.
Editorial Writing: Samantha Linton, third.
Feature Writing: Hailey Caddell, third.
Literary Criticism (Team): Austin Franklin, Evan Franklin, Cameo Gonzales, Caitlyn Thatcher, Alyssa Tigner, second.
Literary Criticism (Individual): Austin Franklin, fifth.
News Writing: Preston Flurkey, fifth.
Social Studies (Team): Hailey Bendewald, Yazmin Melendez, Evangelina Oviedo, Samuel Pixley, Caitlyn Thatcher, Jack Wiley, second.
Social Studies (Individual): Evangelina Oviedo, sixth.
The school’s UIL team members will be participating in several invitational meets prior to the district competition this spring. They next compete at Grandview on Feb. 2.
