Williamson honored as the best

Jerry Williamson was named Realtor of the Year at the Granbury Association of Realtors 2013 banquet Saturday.

In addition to a variety of awards, the GAR installed the new board of directors at the event.

Real estate is a second career for the Realtor of the Year. Williamson reportedly retired from his first career on a Friday and went to work in real estate the following Monday. That’s dedication.

After opening shop, Williamson volunteered to serve on the GAR board of directors, has worked on multiple committees and still has the time and energy to build his personal business.

Williamson has a Bachelor’s Degree in wildlife conservation from Texas Tech and an MBA from Texas A&M. His personal artwork is displayed in his office.

The 2012 Affiliate of the Year award went to Greg and Debbie Lewis of Premier Inspect.

This affiliate company has been in business for almost 16 years and has been associated with the Granbury Association of Realtors for 12 years.

This husband and wife team attends all of the GAR monthly luncheons, participates in the Affiliate Expo, and attends GAR meet and greet events. Their contributions also helped to make the Realtor Redo a reality.

Real Estate has changed over the years and Buddy Almy knows that well. He was raised on a ranch in Fort Worth. He is a graduate of Texas Tech with a degree in Animal Husbandry. He received his sales agent license in 1959 and received his broker license in 1970.

Almy was named Most Dedicated Realtor at the banquet Saturday. He opened his office in Hurst in 1970 and moved his office to Granbury in 1979.

In pursuit of becoming an expert in real estate, he has received the following designations: ALC, GRI, CREA and CRB.

Donyce Parish was named Most Spirited Realtor at the awards banquet. Described as positive, high energy and cheerful, she attends most meetings of the association and if asked, is always willing to assist.

She has been associated not only with real estate, but also has over 25 years of experience and achievements in the government aerospace and defense industry.

Charlie Parish and AndreA Smith were named co-winners of the Outstanding Citizen award for their work with the Realtor Redo. Parish came up with the idea and spearheaded the committee along with co-chair Smith.

Kimberly Shook was installed as the new board president for GAR this year.

Other officers include President Elect Jerry Williamson, Secretary Donyce Parish and Treasurer Becky Wheatley.

Directors include Tammy Dill, Lynn Dirks, Laura Life, Jane Mouhot and Joy Paris.

Past President is Kay Bailey and TAR Representative is Vickie Davies.

The Association Volunteer of the Year is a new award for GAR. Debbie Van Dyke was recognized as the Realtor who gave much of her time to the association over the past year. Many times she gave up her days to help teach members new things in the business.
