Granbury Chamber

ambassadors announced

The Granbury Chamber of Commerce is announcing the addition of seven ambassadors to the organization. The Ambassador committee consists of 30-40 members who serve as public relations and goodwill representatives for the chamber.

New to the group are Greg Corrigan,Sandy Montanino, Michelle Rich, Jennifer Sistrunk, Sally Stanfield, Judy Trivett and Cynthia Valley.

The 2014 officers are Kim Fancher, chair, and Stan Wasielewski, vice-chair .

Existing ambassadors include Samantha Bozeman, R.F. Brown, Elizabeth Caudle, Jean Cochran, Kim Fancher, Deborah Fleming, Janet Collins Hanna, Leslie Hughes, Linda Lytle, Melinda Myers, Lawrence Offutt, Bob Pannell, Emily Payne, Cindy Peters, Kathy Phillips, Carol Pirkle, Lula Pope, Trish Reiner, Doreen Skoney, Hazel Snyder, Jim Snyder, Krista Streeter, Ruby Thiebaud, Carol Upshaw, Stan Wasielewski, and Mary Ziegler.

“Our ambassadors serve an important role in our community and we are proud to have this dedicated team in the chamber. They represent various businesses and still find time to volunteer their time to support the business community,” said Mike Scott, CEO.

Ambassadors attend monthly meetings, ribbon cuttings and ground breaking ceremonies, attend and host chamber events and represent the chamber throughout the community.

Rempel is service advisor

Joey Rempel is a new service adviser at Van Griffith Kia. Leonard Scott, service manager of Van Griffith, made the announcement.

Rempel is moving to his new position from new car sales. He is looking forward to serving KIA customers in the service department.

“Joey already has the knowledge of the KIA automobile and will be a great assest to the service department,” Scott said.

Pete James has opened a new eatery in Acton called Doc Possum’s. The establishment serves barbecue, burgers and your favorite beverages.

Texas bands will be featured on the patio on Friday and Saturday nights.

The Granbury Chamber of Commerce 2013 Granbury Area Guide & Membership Directory won platinum in the prestigious MarCom Awards for outstanding achievement by marketing and creative professionals.

The chamber magazine was chosen from more than 6,500 entries from throughout the United States, Canada and other countries in the 2013 competition. The MarCom Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.

Entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers. The competition has grown to perhaps the largest of its kind in the world and winners range in size from individual communicators to media conglomerates and Fortune 500 companies.
